Event Reports OWLETTS TASK - April 2006
Nine of us arrived at Owletts to help the custodians, the Spree's, with several tasks for the day. Julian, Gary and Colin were sent off behind the garden wall to start a fire and burn some of the excess compost heap. This proved to be a little difficult as most of it had got wet overnight and they were armed with dubious matches and lighter.
Later the men helped to make some replacement timbers for a Pergola supporting a very old and out-of-control wisteria. All of the men were then required to support the weight while the old timbers were removed and the new ones substituted.

The girls spent the early part of day weeding around several of the borders.
The last tasks for the day were putting in new edges for the main path, and shovelling horse sh** to reveal a gate previously hidden from view. The tasks ended at 4pm with Chris kindly buying us a drink at the local hostelry.
